My name is Mitch Grooms, and I live in Atlanta, Georgia.

I have been a Realtor with Coldwell Banker for 13 years and I am also a Videographer/Editor/Producer.

Last year, (2011), I found a rare 1980 Trans Am that had been sitting under a tree for 20 years.

Rare 1980 Trans Am with dark maroon metallic paint, gold snowflake wheels, t-tops and more.

I cleaned her up, got her running and took her to some shows. She was pretty rough, and people laughed.

The rare dark maroon metallic paint is still visible in some areas.

I came across the Bandit Trans Am Club, and through that I have made lots of new friends. They don't laugh, and know the value and importance of saving these cars.

The first get together of the new "Atlanta Gang"?

With the clubs help, I now know what the car looked like new!

A 1980 Trans Am with the same options found online!

When I had a question about what she would look like with silver turbo rims, club member Bo Darville did this for me with Photoshop the same day!

Turbos or snowflakes?  With Photoshop, and a good friend that knows how to use it, you don't need to buy them to find out!

Maybe someday I'll restore the car back to new, but for now, I'm enjoying it just the way it is. I made the video below with the song "Like a Rock", to state that this old girl got me and my brother 700 miles to and back home on the hottest day on record here in Bandit country and we used the A/C the whole trip!

I made this next video showing the engine teardown.

Come look me up on the new Bandit Trans Am Club Facebook Group!  We have a blast!
