My name is Bobby Benson. I am a retired Marketing Manager living in Southern Pines, NC. I am originally from Atlanta, GA. After moving to NC, I started looking for a Bandit Trans Am. My search lasted approximately three years. My brother-in-law told me about the car I now own when he saw it sitting in a barn at the residence of a guy he was doing some work for, who turned out to be the original owner. I bought the car without knowing for sure if it was a real bandit, and drove it 30 mile trip home. It appeared original with all the required gold accents. PHS confirmed it to be a 1978 Bandit with a 400 Pontiac engine complete with W72. Other than these it is a very low option car. I have restored the car mechanically and it is currently in the body shop getting new paint. The interior was very nice and will only need carpet, door panels and maybe new front seat covers to be complete. I really enjoy driving the car and am always surprised with the attention it gets.
