I came across this 79 Anniversary Trans Am by pure luck. I was helping Two of my friends move into my Grand mothers apartment. I have visited every week for the past 15 or more years. This time as we pulled into the parking lot I saw the car sitting. Ruff paint and the interior but it had very little rust and it was complete. I knew the landlord and his wife so I went to go see about this car. Turns out it was parked in the underground in 1987 and sat there till the underground needed to be painted and was pulled out in 99.
I got in touch with the owner and he wanted 3 grand for the car. I told him I wanted it and I’d be back with the cash. 3 weeks later I had a mishap at work and had my face smashed open. Then I was laid off. I saved 1,500 went back to the owner with a face that at the time looked like raw hamburger. He felt sorry for me and sold me the car with one condition! I had to restore the car. No cheap paint or parts and bring it back when it’s all finished. So I took it back to him in 2002 and Mr. Richards almost cried.
I have had 13 Trans Am’s and firebirds. By far this is the one I enjoy the most.
