Bought this 81 Y84 SE on Memorial day weekend from a guy in Cleveland OH. Grew up in the 80’s so I identify with this car. Car was partially restored when I bought it. Did not have original motor in it. Has a crate 400 with a Rochester Q-Jet carb in it. I decided to make a cruiser out of it since it did not match so here is what I have done to it. I bought a Hotchkis TRS suspension kit and totally gutted the suspension all the way from front to back. All suspension including springs (front and back leaf) are new. Shocks all the way around are new and so are the front and back sway bars and tie rods etc. All new ball joints as well. Took the float out of the car and it rides tighter but not too tight. The previous owner spent a lot of time under the hood and it looks new. The exhaust is new as well. After I bought it and drove it home I had the suspension redone. Being that I want a good cruiser I had a 3.73 dropped into the rear end and am having a 700 r 4 transmission with a corvette shift kit built now. Installation next week. Wanted the overdrive for road trips and better gas mileage (especially after I put the 3.73 rear end in it). All windows and t-tops have new weather stripping and are in fantastic shape. After market radio was placed in glove box so original look could be kept in the car. The original radio still lights up when the car is on. Car has a little rust in the trunk that will need my attention this winter but it is not too bad to drive for now. I ordered a new set of 15x8 remanufactured gold inlayed snowflake rims for this car that will be installed soon. I like the snowflake look. Paint job is a couple years old and the decals are in very good shape. Tell me what you think of the car. I wanted to join a T/A club to interact and possibly go to some Bandit events with other owners and enthusiasts. Thank you
