I am 43 years of age and am service manager of a Nissan dealership close to Dublin Ireland. I am married to Val and have one son, Sam, aged 12. My love of Trans Ams and Firebirds goes back to childhood, watching the Rockford files. From the first time I saw that Firebird, I set my sights on one when I was old enough. I took me until 1993 and it wasn't even a Firebird but a 76 Camaro LT350. The reason being that at the time, American cars were something of a rarity here and the Camaro was as close as I could get back then. This Y82 will be my 4th Trans Am ('74 455 in red, 76 400 in orange, 78 400 in black, all auto's) and of course a 1970 Firebird 350 esprit in Colonado Gold with 45k miles which my buddy now owns. (Rockford replica)
This one is a keeper though. Body and mechanicals are excellent with the exception of two very small rust patches, one in the p/s fender and the other at the very bottom of the P/S Quarter (surprise, surprise). Needs a screen due to a crack but that's on the way. The car was exported new to Belgium and sold to Switzerland before being re-exported to England in 1979 due to change of residence. The car remained there until I brought it the short trip to Ireland. I think it is the only S/E in Ireland Decals were replaced with cheap standard T/A decals as one of the owners didn't like the German script?!" Correct decals on the way from NPD. Unusual carmine red interior too. Not my first choice but probably a bit of rarity there
