I was born in '74 and Smokey and the Bandit (along with Easy Rider) was one of the first movies I ever saw when my parents finally got cable TV in the eighties sometime.  I fell in love with the '77 T/A and vowed one day I'd own one.  I found this car in Arizona, flew down to check it out, paid too much for it, flew back down my wife and we drove it back up the coast to Seattle where we live.  The paint, decals and interior had been restored a couple years prior to my buying the car.  I drove it and tinkered with it for a couple years and then I did a JustSuspension.com "Works" kit.  Basically a chasis overhaul.  Tubular A-arms, suspension, sway bars, Wilwood discs up front, steering box, bushings, body & engine mounts.  Next I pulled the motor out and had it turned into a 460 cubic inch 600hp/500 ft.-lb. monster!  Then it was off to the body shop for interior, undercarriage and engine bay restoration.  As of today (12/24/2010) she's at a friend's shop being put back together with a built T-400, Mosser 12 bolt posi rear and all the goodies you would expect.  I have a bunch of pics that I've been posting on the Forum over the last four years that I'll try to get moved over to the gallery at some point.  Hoping to have her on the road spring of 2011.
