Tim Collins
My name is Tim Collins and I am married and have three boys 3, 7 and 9. We live in Decatur, Mississippi. I've always loved Trans Am's since I was a little boy, mainly because of Smokey and the Bandit. I wanted one when I was in high school but I had to settle for a 67 Malibu and then I went to a 69 Olds 442, which I still have but is retired right now. Well to my Trans Am story I had been saving and looking in the local papers for about a year no luck, I had been looking on Ebay and found one in Douglasville GA, it was a turbo T/A. I was really looking for one with a 403 because my cousin had a white 79. I emailed the man asking him some questions all he knew is it was black and it had a turbo and the interior had been recently completed, he got the car from someone that owed him some money. I told him we were going to Atlanta to Six Flags and Braves game, and when he said that he was just two exits from the Six Flags exit, I told my wife that this had to be fate, so I worked out a deal with him to end the auction early and sent him half the money sight unseen, and had him to deliver it to my house while we were on vacation. Well I was ready to get back home I told him we would be back on a Thursday and I wanted it in the driveway when we got back. Well I did not know what I had I did some checking on the net and it sounded like I had an SE gold bird on the shifter button and horn door panels. So about a week later someone said look at ID plate and there it was Y84. What a bonus and a Georgia car too , now she has a permanent home.
