Tony Tirone
My
name is Tony Tirone, I was born and raised in Yonkers NY, a city boy I
guess. I live in Upstate NY now with my wife and two girls, Joann,
Samantha and Amanda who are all looking forward to getting our 1977 Trans Am
back from restoration. I am currently having it restored because I
don't have the time to do it myself. I am a helicopter technician for
the largest helicopter operator in the Northeast. We have a
135-charter department and a 145-repair station.
I am the main floor inspector in the department. I have been
working on helicopters for about 20 years now. I also get to fly them, talk
about a great perk! We have Sikorsky S76’s if anybody knows
anything about helicopters. I build and fly scale model helicopters
(Remote control) also.
I guess my interests are helicopters and Trans AM’s. I have been around
Trans AM's before but I have never owned one, my brother had a 1977 SE he
bought used in 1978 with 1,200 miles on it. I got to drive it and
enjoy it for a few years until it got stolen. Ever since then I have
always wanted one but never did anything about it. Until now.
I have a photo of my brother’s car in my gallery. The picture was
taken very shortly after he got the car. This was my inspiration to get a
Trans Am, along with Smokey And The Bandit of course.
And a little push from my family too.
